Pima Air Museum

I’m a bit of a military geek, and many many years ago I visited the Pima Air & Space museum in Arizona. It’s right next to Davis Monthan AFB, which is where old planes are mothballed and left out in the desert. Check out the Google satellite photo below and scroll around to see what’s out there.

You could get philosophical and critically reflect on these rusting implements of global hegemony, evidence of a massive military industrial complex run wild, but I’m going to ask for a pardon and just enjoy their aesthetic value, while imagining the stories of the ordinary people that actually built and used them.
